Excellent! Chaleur Lounge wins Red Dot for high quality design

The jury has reached its decision: After several days of assessing thousands of products from all over the world, Chaleur Lounge received the distinction 'Red Dot'. With Chaleur Lounge, Alpha Industries have created an outstanding design that the expert committee for the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2017 has recognised with the internationally soughtafter seal of quality.

With Chaleur Lounge the task was to bring the absolute wellness feeling and relax comfort into a limited space. Most infrared saunas require a straight sitting position. On the drawing board we have experimented to generate the maximum comfort experience. And the main question was - how to incorporate in a lounger a full-spectrum infrared heater following and supporting the anatomy of the human body?

This research has resulted into a registered patent. The full-spectrum infrared heater in S - shape was born, which seamlessly follows the body's anatomy. The next step was the ability to control and adjust the intensity of the 4 infrared heaters. With the newly developed Alpha Adaptive Smart Control Unit, the heaters can be set separately from 0 to 100% in terms of power. All possibilities of colour therapy, lighting, temperature, intensity, music, fan and heart rate meter - are controlled by the AASC (Alpha adaptive smart control) or via the app for iPad / iPhone IOS and android systems.

Interior finish in Cracked Old Oak plywood (formaldehyde free), exterior manufactured in oak MDF. Ergonomically shaped lounger in red cedar slats with leather padding around the special S-curve full-spectrum infrared heaters. Front wall in 8 mm clear tempered glass including door.

The significance of the international design competition, Red Dot Award: Product Design, with its headquarter in Essen, Germany is well established internationally. Manufacturers and designers around the globe were also invited to enter their products in the 2017 competition. The jury of around 40 independent designers, design professors and specialist journalists tested, discussed and assessed each individual product. In total, the competition received more than 5,500 entries from 54 countries this year.

Sincerely yours,

Alpha Industries Team
