James Lee, MD at Hydro Finesse and partner at Greentech International and member of ISPE, SPATA, The Biofilm Alliance and PWTAG Industry Forum Member.

James started his recreational water career during the mid 1980’s and became a commercial swimming pool manager in the early 1990’s. He managed a number of large commercial Aquatic Centres for both local authority and privately owned organisations and was part of a team who made one of the first successful applications for National Lottery funding (large Regional Aquatic Centre). In 1999 James moved into recreational water treatment working in various senior appointments for several well known multi national companies but it was biofilms that captured his imagination over 15 years ago understanding the impact biofilms had in other industries such as Industrial, agricultural and drinking water industries.

Applying this science and experience to the recreational water industries was a light bulb moment, realising many of the difficult to treat issues such as persistent microbiological failures lay at the hands of biofilms. James has undertaken a number of well received presentations for the Biofilm Alliance, Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers and academia organisations on the impact biofilms have in swimming pools, spa pools and hot tubs.
